Zambian Customers Visit Automatic Nursery Seedling Machine Factory
Recently, we welcomed a customer from Zambia to visit our factory to conduct an in-depth research on the technical performance, application scenarios and customized services of fully automatic nursery seedling machines.
Customer background and core challenges
The customer is a large-scale agricultural development enterprise in Zambia, focusing on the commercial cultivation of high value-added cash crops, mainly engaged in tomatoes, colored peppers, hybrid corn and cut flower chrysanthemums and other products. However, agriculture in a tropical climate faces multiple challenges:
- Out-of-rainy-season irrigation costs account for 35% of production costs, and traditional nursery methods are inefficient in terms of water use.
- Manual seeding efficiency is only 2,000 plants/person/day, and worker mobility is high in hot environments.
- Open-air nursery is susceptible to pests, temperature differences, and varying seedling specifications.
- The average annual temperature is more than 25℃, and the precipitation is concentrated in the 3-month rainy season. Seasonal drought and high temperature lead to less than 60% survival rate of seedlings.

Automatic nursery seedling machines visit
Guided by the technical team of the plant, the customers experienced the whole process of operation of the fully automated nursery machine, focusing on the following functional modules:
- It can monitor the temperature and humidity in real time and automatically adjust the environment of the nursery cabin to ensure that the seedlings grow under the best conditions.
- Adoption of drip irrigation and fogging combined technology, saving more than 50% of water compared with traditional irrigation, adapting to the needs of arid areas.
- Accurately complete the seeding and mulching, the daily handling capacity of a single equipment reaches 12,000 trays/day (6 times higher than that of manual labor).
- The equipment supports split transportation and quick assembly, adapting to the logistics conditions in remote areas of Zambia.
- The key components are made of wear-resistant materials, which reduces the failure rate and minimizes the expenditure on operation and maintenance in the later stage.
- The standardized seedlings help the customer’s EU order pass rate increase from 72% to 95%, and the annual export value is expected to increase by USD 2 million.
